Best romantic restaurants in Summerville for Valentine's Day
If you’re looking for a romantic restaurant to celebrate with the one you love for Valentines Day, here are some of the places I love best in Summerville. We have many more, but these are my tried and true favorites.
My number one favorite romantic place to spend the evening is Middleton Place Restaurant. It's my husbands as well so that helps justify going there often.Make reservations and plan to get there before the sun goes down. You can take a romantic stroll through their beautiful gardens. The camellias are blooming and they have lots of varieties. Look for the peacock who is usually looming in the large oak trees near the restaurant. Their food is also delicious!
Oscars Place is and has been a local favorite for years. They are offering a Valentine's Day Menu with some great selections including their she crab soup and filet Oscar style, two of my favorites. It goes without saying, but you'll want to make reservations here as well as they are always packed, but especially for special occasions. Just FYI, off their pub menu their sweet chile chicken wings are some of the best in the lowcountry.
Five Loaves Cafe is also a local favorite. You'll dine in a converted old southern home that has a very quaint feel. They offer a healthy, sustainable menu with lots of options from local sources. Be adventurous here and order something you wouldn't normally order. You won't be disappointed. Their pumpkin seed encrusted salmon is delicious. Their caesar salad is a favorite of mine. It comes with warm three cheese tortellini in it. Yum.
If you want dinner and dancing, the Summerville Country Club is your place. For Valentines Day they are having a Filet Mignon Dinner with dancing under the Candlelite Pavilion. If you've never been, the pavilion overlooks the golf course. It's beautiful all lit up. It's also a great place to meet people - we've never been there and didn't come away with new friends.
A large fireplace, high ceilings and brick walls at The Ice House Restaurant create a great place for a romantic Valentines Day dinner. They offer southern fare prepared by chef Michael Balga who is passionate about farm to table fresh ingredients. Being right downtown Summerville, you can follow dinner with a stroll through town and view some of the historic homes.
One last final recommendation which isn't really a restaurant but would be a great place to take someone special is Accent on Wine. It's a quaint wine bar right on Hutchinson Square in downtown Summerville. They have certified sommeliers on staff to help pick out a wine you'll enjoy. If wine is not your thing guys, they have craft beer as well. For dinner, they do offer over 20 varieties of cheese and a dozen types of cured meats and pates from around the world to create your own cheese and charcuterie board. It's won several awards over the years for being "The best place to take a date" as well as "The best place for a romantic night out." If you don't make it for Valentines Day, they have special offerings every week.
That's my small list of favorite places in Summerville. I'm sure you have others. Let us know where you plan on celebrating.
