The weather is getting nice and it's the perfect time of year to get out and do something fun!  Here's a list of some things going on around Summerville this month.

Junior Woodshop at Nailed It DIY

Saturdays March 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th 10AM - 1PM

This event is for children 8 and older. They will learn to use tools safely. The four sessions are:

    • Introduction the WoodShop
    • Geometric Design Course
    • Hand Finishing Techniques
    • Be Your Own Designer

Lunch with Lola's Lumpia in Town Of Summerville

Tuesday, March 8th,  11:30 am – 1:30 pm, First Citizens Bank

Come join Lola's every 2nd Tuesday for lunch in Summerville! 218 S Main - in the First Citizens Bank Parking Lot. Open to the public.

Timrod Children's Storytime 

Thursday, March 10th, 10:30am

There will be stories, crafts, and snacks for the children.  It is a free event and happens monthly on the second Thursday of the month.

Saturday, March 12th,  1 – 2 pm at Dorchester County Library, 76 Old Trolley Rd

The Shamrock Shuffle Fun Run

Saturday, March 12th, 7 - 10am, includes a Fun Run, 5K Race, and 10K Race

This event has been a hometown favorite for twenty years. This is a fundraiser for the Summerville Y. Everyone is encouraged to show their St. Patrick's Day Spirit with the wearing of the green.

Summerville Orchestra Presents: Solos & Strings

Saturday, March 19th, 7–9pm at Coastal Coffee Roasters

A String Quartet will be joined by our very own concertmaster Alex Boissonnault, clarinetist Niko Stem and trumpetist Ethan Pruitt to bring you the music of Mozart, Bach, and more! Grab your friends and family and join us for a night of beautiful music at your favorite local coffee shop!

Wednesday, March 23rd, 5:50 - 6:30, Dorchester County Library, 76 Old Trolley Rd

Join the Music Director of the Summerville Orchestra, Wojciech Milewski, for this musical education series.

Antique & Artisan Village Spring Craft Show

Saturday, March 26th, 9am to 2pm on Old Trolley Road

Local artisans will be showing their crafts and a food truck will be there for those who are hungry. See you there!

 

Dorchester Paws Dog Adoption Event - Summerville

Saturday, March 26th,  1 – 3 pm, Dorchester Library, 76 Old Trolley Rd

Meet some pups in need of love and a Furever home. You may find your new best friend!

Summerville Goat Yoga at Flowertown Charm Mini-Farm

Saturdays at 10:30am -12:30pm

NAAAAAAAMASTE!   Goat Yoga is a casual and gentle yoga class, with goats and their friends!  The goats roam around, cuddle, and headbutt each other to play, all while in your yoga poses. The yoga class will be an hour-long, and if you can't "goat" enough you can stay for goat happy hour after class! During goat happy hour you can hang out, snuggle, and take pictures with the goats.

VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance)

Every Saturday through April 16th at Bethany UMC West 3rd St.

Need help preparing your taxes? VITA is an IRS-sponsored group that provides free federal and state income tax preparation and filing. The volunteers are certified in various areas of tax law and have years of experience. Every Saturday through April 16th they will be at Bethany UMC W. 3rd St.

2022 Summerville Family YMCA Flowertown Festival

April 1st - April 3rd 

So this isn't technically in March but it's worth mentioning early so you can put it on your calendars!  The festival is consistently voted in the Southeast Tourism Top 40 events. The Y hosts over 300 vendors including handmade Arts & Crafts, Business, Civic and Food. We have Youth Rides and so much more to see! Free admission, free parking and LOTS of smiles included!
